How to configure TAMS 62622 or 61622 GPIO card
to match the HP 98622 factory defaults

The 98622 card came setup from factory in three different flavors,

depending of what was attached to the GPIO card:

GPIO to 6940B (Multiprogrammer)

PCTL               --> Low=Set

PFLG               --> High=Ready

PSTS               --> High = OK

HSHK             --> Full

DOUT             --> High = 0

DIN                 --> High = 0

Read Clock      --> Read

GPIO to 9866 (printer)

PCTL               --> Low=Set

PFLG               --> High=Ready

PSTS               --> High = Not OK

HSHK             --> Full

DOUT             --> High = 0

DIN                 --> High = 0

Read Clock      --> DON'T CARE it is a printer!

GPIO to 9885 (disc)

PCTL               --> Low=Set

PFLG               --> Low=Ready

PSTS               --> High = Not OK

HSHK             --> Full

DOUT             --> High = 0

DIN                 --> High = 0

Read Clock      --> Busy

Out of these three the one chosen for Windows by default is the first one (Multiprogrammer).

It is the most common setup for GPIO applications.

Also, there are other configurable parameters in the card that can be programmed as well, and

the default values in Windows are:

Pull-up resistors = ON  (Useful for customers running BASIC when there are not pull-up resistors

provided by the external hardware)

Clear DOUT at Reset = not checked (equivalent to DOUT Clear jumper not installed)

PCTL Delay = 400 nsec (original default value 250 nsec, 400 nsec is more conservative.)

Data Port = Compatibility (98622 operation mode)

Logical Unit = 12

Interface Name = gpio

In the TAMS GPIO card, there is no equivalent to the configuration jumper for BURST mode found in the

HP98622.

However, this is not a problem because, the TAMS GPIO card always chooses the best method to transmit

data (with or without DMA, depending on hardware limitations or hint argument used in ihint)

The following is an example of the 61622 configuration dialog box in Windows with the default values.
