Our product numbers have changed...
We used to sell our interfaces as either a Red Hat Linux interface or a Windows interface.  Red Hat Linux products were designated with an "8" as the first number and Windows products were designated with a "6" as the first number. For example, we had the 81488 PCI-GPIB for Red Hat Enterprise Linux and the 61488 PCI-GPIB for Windows.  They are the same circuit, but with different software.  We have now combined the two products into one and included software for both Windows and RHEL  The new combined part numbers (except for the L488) now all begin with a "9".  The combined part number for the PCI-GPIB interface is now 91488.  Still the same circuit, but now includes software for both Windows and RHEL.

TAMS GPIB cable has a high density connector on one end and a standard GPIB connector on the other.  TAMS  PCI & PCIe GPIB cards use a smaller, high density connector so as to be in full compliance with the PCI specification.  Technically, a standard GPIB connector on a PCI card is actually slightly wider than the PCI specification allows.  With a standard GPIB connector and cable, it is sometimes impossible to connect the cable to some computers.  The large connectors often interfere with the case or adjacent expansion slots.  This can stress the cable, card or connection.  Our high density connector allows multiple cards to be installed in adjacent slots without cable interference or connection strain.  Cables are not included with the interfaces and should be ordered separately.
