Version 3.4 was the final release to add 4uX (2.6.9-x) kernels. Version 3.3 was the final release for 3uX (2.4.21-x).
All future development (version 3.5 and beyond) will generally be for odd
updates of RHEL 5 and eventually RHEL 6.
The original, unpatched kernels listed above are supported. If you attempt to install the package on an unsupported
kernel (e.g. *bigmem, "*PAE" or 64bit-4u6), the kernel driver will not load.
However, our L488 LAN GPIB adapter
should work on all
RHEL 4 and later kernels, independent of the IO library. If you
need GPIB on an unsupported kernel, then use our
L488 LAN GPIB adapter.
CENTOS aims to be 100% binary compatible with Red Hat Enterprise Linux. We don't test or support it, but
we do have customers who have successfully deployed our software on
matching CENTOS kernels.
To determine if you are using a supported
RHEL kernel, type:
uname -mr
If it prints 'i686', then you are running the 32-bit version. If it prints
'x86_64', then you are running the 64-bit version of the kernel.
To determine
the version of installed IO Libraries,
type:
rpm -q T82091
